We see from this passage that work is a blessing. The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. Work is a part of God’s creation – not a result of the fall. This means that God’s plan from the very beginning was to give us work, to be of service, to take care of one another and to care for the environment and it’s animals. This was the plan BEFORE the fall.
As we step into a new week may we all look at the work we do with a new perspective. Work was not created to be a burden. Instead it is part of the plan to love, serve and care for one another. May we be grateful for the work we have been given and do it to the best of our ability so that we not only make a positive difference to one another but so that we glorify the one who made us and has entrusted us with the work we have.

Shine prayer for the day:
“Lord, help me to remember that work was always a part of your plan for me. Help me therefore to do the work that has been entrusted to me to the best of my ability so that positively influence those around me, and glorify you in the process.”

Shine thought for the day:
Do you know how many people on planet earth would do anything to have your job and the money you earn you right now? Friend, there are millions of people out of work who would do anything to be you. You are blessed. Now go out there and SHINE!
