We Are Not Labels. We Are Human.

A man is dead.
Shot in cold blood.

And the world did what it always does.
Some wept in devastation.
Some cheered in fear and hate.
And both sides sharpened their knives,
branding the other as villains.

Charlie Kirk’s death did more than silence a voice.
It revealed the sickness we’ve all been breathing:
a world obsessed with labels.
Liberal. Conservative. Left. Right.
Us. Them.

I used to call myself a liberal—
because I believe in equality,
in education,
in healthcare,
in justice,
in the right of every human
to live a life of peace and possibility.

But today, I wondered.
If freedom of speech,
faith,
and family
are “conservative values”…
then maybe I am conservative after all.

And then another thought hit me harder:
Maybe that’s the madness itself.

Because before the labels—
before the politics,
before the tribes—
we are human.

Brothers. Sisters.
All stumbling forward on the same fragile earth.
All longing for the same things:

The right to speak.
The chance to hope.
The freedom to live.
The power to love—and be loved.

It only takes one person to light a match.
One person to pull a trigger.
One person to end a life.

But it also takes one person
to choose humanity over hate.
To bridge the chasm instead of digging it deeper.

Maybe the way to honor his death
is not more division,
not more labels,
not more blame.

But to remember what we so easily forget:
We are not enemies.
We are not categories.
We are not labels.

We are human.
